The glass you choose makes a big difference to the comfort of your space.
DuCo offers a range of glazing options for a range of applications. Incorporating quality glass reflects a thoughtful approach to design, enhancing the overall aesthetics and liveability of your space, and the size of your energy bills.
Our range – including Thermal Performance, Safety, Acoustic, Tinted and Obscures – can provide better insulation, block outside noise, and offer increased security and privacy.
Other specialty glazing options are available including decorative, patterned, painted, reflective, mirror and more. Get in touch with our team to discuss your specific project requirements.
Thermal Performance
Thermal Performance glass will keep your home cool in summer and warm in winter. When looking out through Low E (low emissivity) glass, the high-tech coating lets light into your home, while reflecting heat.
The protective, high-tech coating on Low E glass effectively forms a barrier, reflecting heat back from the glass to reduce heat loss, while at the same time reducing solar gain.
UN Low E
Thermal Performance glass that keeps your home warm in winter and cool in summer.
SKN Low E
Offering all the perks of Un Low E, with the added benefit of high solar control, preventing overheating in sun-exposed spaces.
Tinted
Achieve the desired aesthetic of your home by adding tinted glass. Tinted glass in homes minimises glare, protects from harmful UV rays and adds privacy. It balances natural light, creating a comfortable and aesthetic living space.
Grey tint
Best for privacy and reduces the most natural light of the tint options.
Green tint
Usually used in contemporary designs, green tint allows a high amount of natural light, but is less effective for privacy.
Bronze tint
Typically used on older projects to match any existing joinery.
Safety
Especially designed to resist impact and minimise breakages, safety glass keeps your family safe and secure. In case of breakage, safety glass ensures a safer environment, making it ideal for family homes and high-traffic areas. The NZ Building Code mandates that safety glass is used wherever there is risk of human impact.
Toughened glass
Ideal for safety, strength and temperature resistance due to its unique, high-stress manufacturing process. If broken, toughened glass will shatter into small, safe fragments, minimising the risk of injury.
Laminate glass
Difficult to break and if it does, a unique interlayer incorporated between two pieces of glass holds fragments together.
Acoustic
If your home is on a busy road, near train tracks, an airport or a school, you’ll know how disruptive excessive noise can be. Acoustic glass helps reduce noise transmission by using thicker glass, a wider spacer between glass and laminate, or a combination of the two.
Laminate glass
A dual purpose option used in most applications to reduce noise and increase safety and security, while also reducing fading.
Obscures
Obscured glass, also known as privacy glass, is ideal for spaces where privacy is paramount such as bathrooms and entranceways. It’s also used to reduce natural light, when necessary. Our range of obscured glass is available in a range of patterns, etchings and laminates.
Stippolite
Patterned with fine round circles. The most common and cost effective option that allows natural light through.
Mistlite
Patterned with a fine square hatch. A modern upgrade on the more common Stippolite that allows natural light through.
Etchlite
A fine etching which creates a pale, milky-coloured glass with a flat texture. Reduces some natural light.
Opalescent
a solid white interlayer and a bright, white finish. The strongest obscure available that also reduces the most amount of natural light and therefore fading.
